Materials of our Gold Earrings

Our earrings are made of 14K yellow gold or 14K white gold. This means that the gold content is 58.5%. Besides gold, there are other materials such as silver, copper and zinc. Since gold is a very soft metal and would otherwise be very sensitive to environmental influences, robust materials are necessary in the alloy. The additional materials included give the earrings the desired color and the necessary hardness. All our earrings are hypoallergenic and can also be used for freshly pierced ears. Gold earrings have higher prices but they keep their quality for a lifetime.

We have deliberately decided against rosé gold earrings, as the demand is much lower. In addition, rosé gold has a high copper content and may cause allergic reactions under certain circumstances. Therefore, rosé gold earrings would no longer be hypoallergenic.

Why do we use Zirconia Stones?

We only use zirconia stones in the highest quality grade, which is called '5A'. 5A zirconia stones have a hardness of approximately 8.5/10 on the Mohs scale. Diamonds, in comparison, have a hardness of 10/10. Because of their high hardness and visually similar appearance, zirconia stones are the best and most popular alternative to diamonds. The big advantage is that due to the lower price of zirconia stones, we can offer high quality gold earrings affordably.

How to find the right Earring diameter?

To find out, take a tape measure and measure the distance between the ear hole and the outermost point of your ear. This distance indicates the size of the diameter. Our Huggies selection ranges from 6mm to 12mm.
