Why are our earrings hypoallergenic?

Gold is one of the most popular precious metals – and for good reason. A special property of gold is its skin compatibility. This makes gold jewelry suitable for allergy sufferers. In addition, our hypoallergenic earrings do not contain Nickel.
We exclusively use 585 yellow gold and 585 white gold, also known as 14-karat. 585 means the alloy contains 58.5% gold. Alloys with lower and higher gold content are also available, such as 375 or 750.

Why are our earrings waterproof?

Unlike plated costume jewelry, which usually breaks after a short time, our waterproof earrings are made of solid gold. Gold doesn't discolor and will last a lifetime. You can wear your earrings day and night, and you don't have to remove them even when swimming or showering. Gold jewelry can also be cleaned with mild soap.

585 yellow gold

In the jewelry industry, alloy 585 is one of the most popular because it contains enough gold to be hypoallergenic and water-resistant, while still remaining affordable and durable.

Since gold is relatively soft, silver and copper are added to the alloy to achieve the necessary hardness for scratch-resistant and robust jewelry.

585 white gold

White gold is composed of the same components as yellow gold. However, it contains a higher silver content in the alloy to remove the yellow tinge. White gold gets its typical silvery sheen from its layer of rhodium and platinum. These precious metals are also hypoallergenic and water-resistant. Their hardness makes the earrings highly resistant to everyday wear and tear.

Our earring clasps are just as durable as the material itself and are inspected several times before sale. Furthermore, all our earrings come with a two-year warranty.

Gold jewelry for piercings

Only certain materials may be used as initial jewelry for freshly pierced ears. Only hypoallergenic and nickel-free jewelry may be inserted into an ear hole that hasn't yet healed. Furthermore, the initial jewelry must be sterilized before insertion.

Materials that meet all of these criteria include surgical steel, titanium, and gold. Our earrings are made of 585 gold and are therefore also suitable for first-time piercings. However, please note that for some ear piercings, the earring may need to be changed after healing. This is because the post length for initial jewelry is usually longer than the post length after healing. The piercing site swells, and this swelling must therefore be taken into account. Otherwise, complications can arise during healing. After healing, the size is then reduced and adjusted.
